What are the 4 types of artificial intelligence?

Arend Hintze, an assistant professor of compound biology and computer science and engineering at Michigan State University, explained in a 2016 article that AI can be divided into four types, starting with direct-oriented work programs today and moving on to emotional, non-programming. The categories are as follows:

Type 1: Active equipment. These AI programs have no memory and are designed for work. An example is Deep Blue, an IBM chess program that beat Garry Kasparov in the 1990s. Deep Blue can point to pieces on a chess board and make predictions, but because he has no memory, he can’t use past experiences to predict the future.

Type 2: Limited memory. These AI programs have memory, so they can use past knowledge to inform future decisions. Some of the decision-making functions in self-driving cars are designed in this way.

Theory of mind. Psychology is a term for psychology. When used in AI, it means that the system will have public intelligence to understand emotions. This type of AI will be able to incorporate human intentions and predict the behavior, the power required for AI programs to become integrated members of groups of people.

Type 4: Self-awareness. At this stage, AI programs have an independent, informative concept. Self-help machines understand their current situation. This type of AI does not yet exist.
