AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a complete, flexible cloud computing platform provided by Amazon that combines a mix of infrastructure such as service (SaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and integrated software such as service offerings (IaaS). AWS services can provide the organization with tools such as computing power, website storage and content delivery services.

AWS was launched in 2006 from an internal infrastructure built by Amazon.com to handle its online marketing activities. AWS was one of the first companies to introduce a cloud computing model as it comes off the scale to provide users with computer, storage or output as needed.

AWS provides a wide range of tools and solutions for businesses and software developers that can be used in data centers in up to 190 countries. Groups such as government agencies, educational institutions, non-profit organizations and NGOs can use AWS services.
